Anthony Brown Codeable Certified Expert WordPress Developer Worchester, Massachusetts, USA

1. For anyone who isn’t already familiar with Codeable, could you describe Codeable to them?

Codeable is a great service that connects battle-tested developers to businesses that need WordPress work done the correct way.

Imagine a place where you could have a constant flow of work without cold calling or fighting for jobs with developers who underbid each other to get the work… That’s Codeable.

2. How has Codeable impacted your career as a freelance WordPress developer? Is working for Codeable any different than your previous jobs as a developer and if so, how?

Codeable has totally changed the way I work, I’m no longer on the hunt to chase down clients which frees up my time to focus on coding and gives me more free time to spend with my family.

Financially it has given me the freedom to do so much more in life.

3. Do you have a favorite memory, or favorite client, from Codeable? If so, could you tell us more about what set that experience apart from all the rest.

I have too many fun projects to list, a few of the most memorable ones are building a coffee marketplace with WooCommerce vendors where the users could build their own coffee blends with composite products then add that blend to their vendor marketplace for sale.

Another cool project, which was a complete custom solution is I got to develop, was a reverse auction house for herds of cows from Canada. Users would log in sort by cow breed and bid try to get the lowest price for the herd.

4. What are your favorite types of projects to work on via Codeable? If you could pick your perfect project, what (or who) would it be?

One of the reasons I love working for Codeable is finding complex diverse projects I wouldn’t find elsewhere, from debugging to security, API integrations to building custom solutions into WordPress.

The most rewarding projects for me is helping clients with websites that have been hacked and finding solutions to connect their website to third-party systems.

5. For anyone who is considering joining Codeable, what advice would you have to share with them to convince them to join?

Joining Codeable is a game changer, if you know you are good and have proven yourself already in the world of WordPress then Codeable is where you want to be.

You are going to get all the work you want at a rate you’re happy to work for.

6. When you’re not developing, what do you like to do in your free time?

When I’m not writing code, I’m hanging out with my wife and two kids.

I brew (and drink) my own beer when I’m not fixing something around the house.

I also enjoy camping, hiking the white mountains in New Hampshire and whenever I can I fit in fishing the reservoir for trout/salmon (and mostly getting skunked!).

7. Is there anything else you’d like to share with us about yourself?

My time at Codeable has been great, I get to interact with a great group of people!

The CEO (Per Esbensen) is very hands on and is just a Skype message away if we need anything.

Back when I joined Codeable in 2015 I thought it might be a good short term solution to finance a down payment on my house but it grew into about 75% of my current revenue.

If you are proven WordPress expert, have a great work ethic and communication skills then Codeable is for you!
