Francesco Carlucci, full-stack developer extraordinaire, joined the Codeable team back in July of 2017, and has since pushed himself to become one of their top producing WordPress developers.
Traveling and working in more than 25 countries as a true digital nomad, Francesco recently shared with me what it’s been like finding his true home among the diverse community of experts at Codeable.
If you’re not familiar already, Codeable is an outsourcing platform catering exclusively to WordPress development projects. Their mission is simple: to connect the world’s best freelance WordPress developers with clients and deliver quality without question.
Joining the creme-de-la-creme of WordPress developers on Codeable is no easy task.
In fact, only 2% of WordPress developers who apply to Codeable are accepted to the platform.
Francesco made the cut.
In just three years, Francesco has managed to complete more than 1,150+ projects all while maintaining perfect, five-star ratings from all his Codeable clients.
While he typically seeks out medium-sized projects of all types, a bulk of his work ends up being for startups in need of brainstorming and collaboration, in addition to their various technical needs – an area he is more than willing to contribute!
Not unlike other Codeable freelancers, Francesco says he feels personally tied to the platform and its family of expert WordPress developers who make an effort to exchange knowledge, faithfully refer clients, and contribute to the greater Codeable community.
I think it’s safe to say that this Codeable expert won’t be moving on any time soon…
If you’re still searching for a full-stack WordPress developer to take on your challenge, hire Francesco. He’s who you’ve been looking for all along.
But hey, don’t just take my word for it – Hear from Francesco in our interview below, or you can read reviews from his clients and browse his Codeable portfolio here.
1. For anyone who isn’t already familiar with Codeable, could you describe Codeable to them?
Well, trying to avoid a techie language, Codeable is a place online where entrepreneurs and companies of literally any size can find the perfect WordPress developer for their project.
By “perfect” I not only mean skilled and reliable, but also with specific experience in relation to the project and enough availability to handle it on-time and on-budget.
2. How has Codeable impacted your career as a freelance WordPress developer? Is working for Codeable any different than your previous jobs as a developer and if so, how?
I’ve been working as a freelancer for my whole career because I like making my own hours and work when and where I am more productive and focused. What Codeable changed in my professional life is pushing me to learn new skills, explore new areas, and specialize.
I work on medium-sized projects usually, this means that I have a lot of turnaround and get to know/work with many companies all around the world. Each company has something unique, and this is what keeps me learning and exploring constantly.
Another key factor is the Community of Experts. As a solo-freelancer, joining Codeable finally made me feel part of a stimulating and diverse community of pros, which benefits me personally and professionally.
3. Do you have a favorite memory, or favorite client, from Codeable? If so, could you tell us more about what set that experience apart from all the rest.
This is a hard question! My favorite memory is for sure the first Codeable dinner in Belgrade, when I met for the first time, in-person, all the people I talk with on a daily basis.
As for my clients, I love all of them 🙂
But the ones I am really proud of are the ones I’ve seen grow over the years and with whom I shared both struggles and successes.
4. What are your favorite types of projects to work on via Codeable? If you could pick your perfect project, what (or who) would it be?
I define myself as a “real full-stack” developer because I comfortably range from back-end to front-end, from troubleshooting to performance tuning, and I have all of them in my portfolio.
But right now, I prefer projects with unique challenges. So, any project that requires people to (virtually) sit around a table, brainstorm, produce something new and then measure the results… is the perfect fit for me!
5. For anyone who is considering joining Codeable, what advice would you have to share with them to convince them to join?
Go on Codeable and carefully read our mission and our process. If you have the passion and the care we have for each project, and you can meet their standards, Codeable is for you!
Oh, and this probably goes without saying, you have to be a WordPress superstar!
6. For anyone who is considering posting their next WordPress project to Codeable, what advice would you have to share with them to convince them to do that?
Codeable is all about quality. So if you are looking to hire a WordPress developer to bring your project to the next level, this is the right way to do it.
We are more than a marketplace, we work with a mission and do not deliver projects we are not proud of 🙂
7. Some people think we’re “just” robots, but developers are human too… When you’re not writing code for your clients, what do you like to do with your free time?
As a digital nomad, I spend most of my free time exploring the places where I currently live.
I also love running, I do it almost every day and I enjoy just about anything which puts me in contact with nature… Maybe it’s to help balance out all of the time I spend in front of my computer?
8. Is there anything else you’d like to share with us about your time on Codeable so far?
Joining Codeable has been life-changing for me, and the more I talk with other fellow experts, the more I see this is a common pattern. But at the same time, I have to say it took me one full year to get started after I passed the vetting process because I was too busy with my previous projects.
Watching at it in hindsight, there was already a takeaway there: sometimes we need to slow down and embrace the new possibilities to fully express our potential and step up our lives.
