If WordCamp is like a music festival for developers, then I’m getting closer to earning my headliner status. After speaking engagements at both WordCamp Vancouver and WordCamp Tampa, I’m back in the Sunshine State and closing down the WordCamp Orlando event with my session on Sunday, October 9th.
Like a band touring their greatest hits, I’ll once again be covering my favorite topic during this session: how to earn (at least) a six-figure income as a freelancer. WordCamp Orlando will be my third speaking engagement of the summer and perhaps my last one for a little while. But hey, that’s okay with me, I view this as the very beginning of my career as a thought leader on successfully making the transition from full-time employment to full-time freelancing.
Plus, I’m still learning and finding my way as a full-time freelancer. It’s true, I’ve only recently completed my first year as a full-time freelancer and it was nothing short of amazing! You certainly don’t have to take my word for it, but they probably wouldn’t invite me up on stage to talk the talk if I weren’t already walking the walk as well, right?
